GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
Biscotti are Italian almond biscuits originating in the city of Prato, Tuscany. They are twice-baked, oblong-shaped, crunchy and dry. To soften them up, dip them in your favorite chocolate sauce or if you prefer in a cup of coffee, cappuccino, or cafe latte! In Italy, they are typically served as an after-dinner dessert with a Tuscan fortified wine called Vin Santo. You will also often get a small biscotti with an ice cream selection as a side.
Inspired by Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar on ships like Odyssey, Wonder and Icon of the Seas, Nonnas Biscotti is one of many hits on the restaurant’s menu. From meatballs in a Roman-style sauce and hand-tossed pizzas straight out of the oven to specialty dishes, like Italian stromboli, the lineup of classics with a twist is complemented by an extensive wine list, cocktails and delicate limoncello. Don’t miss dining here while on board. Enjoy recreating and eating this tasty dessert at home.
Modern versions of biscotti recipes often contain nuts, such as almonds, pine nuts, pistachios, and hazelnuts or spices such as anise or cinnamon.
Tip: You will find Nonnas Biscotti at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen on ships like Freedom of the Seas.
